Law Enforcement Training: Challenging, But Rewarding

A career in law enforcement requires a certain type of personality, not everyone is cut out to cope with the work involved, regardless of how well meaning they might be. You may find it helpful to talk to some police officers in your area to get some insight about their job before you decide to commence your law enforcement training.
It may also be helpful to ask someone at your local police station what law enforcement training would involve, and what the career options are once you have finished. Often in small communities you may have to wait for a long time for a position to become available, if you’re not prepared to move away. A career in law enforcement may involve moving around a lot before you settle down and find a long-term position. The people you talk to may also be able to tell you where trainees end up once they complete their law enforcement training.
It is important to discuss your plans with your family before you begin your law enforcement training. Although they may try to talk you out of it, they still need to be aware of your plans. Law enforcement training can be tough, both physically and mentally, and your family and friends will be your primary support network if you find yourself struggling. They will often provide the moral support and encouragement you need to realize your dream.
