Are People Being Honest About Green Tea Benefits?

Thinking back, the first time I remember hearing about green tea was probably over ten years ago. I know it’s been around for a long time, but for some reason it wasn’t considered ‘hip’ until then. There seems to be a lot of conflicting opinions about what the benefits of green tea. Most of the time the confusion lies between what is hype and what is true. Many of the things that are talked about as being green tea benefits sound fantastic, but there don’t seem to be many experts around who can verify these claims. Regardless of this fact, products everywhere seem to have green tea in them and people enjoy consuming it.

“…they believe it has a remarkable effect on their well-being.”One of the green tea benefits most often mentioned is its ability to help cleanse the body of toxins. Toxins building up in the body can lead to a lot of different problems, so a drink that naturally cleanses the body would be a great thing indeed. A lot of people I have talked to drink it for this reason and they believe it has a remarkable effect on their well-being. I don’t know if it really does this or not, but I figure it can’t do any harm to drink it. I’ve also heard people claiming that green tea has the benefit of preventing certain types of cancer.

Fat metabolism, liver function, diabetes, weight loss, irritable bowel syndrome and cholesterol are all other green tea benefits that are associated with its use. I don’t know about those with HIV/AIDS, but some claim it can help boost the immune system. It’s recommended not to add milk to green tea when drinking it, otherwise you will not receive the full benefits of green tea when ingesting it. Apparently milk has a tendency to bond with certain molecules in the tea and might block some of the natural healing properties of the tea.

The benefits of green tea can be enjoyed in a few ways. There are green tea supplements that you can take, along with the usual cup or two each day. Both grocery stores, and health food type stores sell the supplements, and they are reasonably inexpensive. Although some of the benefits of green tea are largely unproven and perhaps don’t have as much evidence supporting them as need be, it certainly doesn’t hurt to try drinking a cup of tea each day to see if it has health benefits for you. Be aware too that many green teas contain caffeine, so anyone who is affected by caffeine should try finding a non-caffeinated form. Overall, the green tea benefits seem numerous and a lot of respectable people recommend it for it’s health benefits, so I think it’s worth a try.
