Your wedding day has long been over, but you are looking forward to watching your daughter walk down the aisle with the man that she loves. You don’t have to buy a white gown this time, but you do want to find a mother of the bride outfit so that you can look your best. Though there are some horror stories out there about moms wearing white to weddings, you would never do something like that. You want something that goes with the wedding colors that will make you look your best, but also that leaves the spotlight on the couple in love.
A mother of the bride outfit can be almost anything, as long as they look good. Many moms like to get a dress that matches one of the wedding theme colors, and as long as those colors are not fluorescent yellow or hunter’s orange, that is a great way to go. My mother in law wore a beautiful mother of the bride outfit when my sister in law got married. It matched the wedding colors, but was something that was made just for a mom at a wedding. This doesn’t have to be the case for you, however.
Your mother of the bride outfit can be something special that you already have in your closet, or you may want to go out and buy something new just for the special day. This might depend on how much money you are spending on your daughter’s wedding. She may not have left enough in the bank for you to buy a special mother of the bride outfit. I’m just kidding, I hope. You may want to take a day to go shopping with her so that you can pick out what you are going to wear that day. It might be a nice day to spend together before things get too crazy in the wedding planning department.
If you can’t find anything in the store, you may want to look online for you mother of the bride outfit. You might find a bigger selection online than in the stores, but remember that you will not be able to try the outfit on before you buy. You may want to shop early incase you have to send it back or have it altered. Remember that your mother of the bride outfit does not have to be labeled as such. It can be anything you like, even if it is not made just for a wedding. Many pay more for the label, but it is simply not necessary.
